The history of TASAAGA is associated with various srategies adopted by the Ugandan population to fight HIV/AIDS and poverty. A grassroots non-government, non-profit and non-partisan organization, TASAAGA was formed in 1995 and officially registered with the local government authorities of Wakiso district and the Registration number is WCBO/1005/10.

VISION: TASAAGA is working towards seeing a community free from HIV and extreme poverty.

MISSION: TASAAGA exists to contributing to the eradication of HIV and extreme poverty in marginalized communities of Uganda. 


To empower rural households in Busukuma subcounty, Kimi Islands, Ssese Islands, to fight extreme poverty and HIV by the year 2018 through providing microcredit services to women in these households, vocational skills training to the youth, support to agriculture and other rural based income generating activities.

Preventing HIV/AIDS spread, Malaria and other diseases in rural communities through community outreach and sensitization.

To contribute to the Universal Primary Education goals by ensuring that at least 120 orphan other vulnerable children in Wakiso district complete a full course of primary education by the year 2018.

To network and collaborate with other agencies locally and internationally with similar objectives.
